The Shared Church, Kaub
This architectural union of the two confessions is fairly unique. Kaub’s parish church owes its existence to changing religious affiliations and the Reformation. The famous “Madonna of Caub”, a wooden sculpture carved from limewood by an unknown master in about 1420, is one of the most important works of that era. The original is in the Hesse State Museum in Kassel, but a faithful reproduction of the sculpture is on display at Kaub.
