St. Severus, Boppard
This church, which dominates the town, rises up from where the military bath houses once stood within the Roman fort of Boppard. St. Severus is one of the finest examples of late Romanesque church architecture in the Rhineland. The webbed vaulting in the nave is unique in Romanesque architecture. The richness of the colours and decorative patterns is unmatched in the Middle Rhine region.
