Oberheimbach
Nestled amongst vines, meadows and forests above the mouth of the Heimbach stream is the historic wine-growing community of Oberheimbach. Eleven winegrowers still continue the village’s long history of wine cultivation. Riesling accounts for 80 per cent of the wine grown here, the remaining 20 per cent is Müller-Thurgau and Scheurebe, although these varieties are having to make way for red grapes such as Spätburgunder (pinot noir) and Blauer Portugieser.
