“RheinVokal” is a series of summer concerts on the Rhine and its tributary valleys. This festival celebrates the beauty of vocal music in all its intricacies and nuances encompassing a wide range of styles from voluptuously seductive pieces, strictly formal spiritual music, and rich Baroque coloraturas to gripping modern compositions. Variety is the spice of life and the microphones of the regional broadcasting company Südwestfunk are always on site.

Once a year at the TalTotal festival, tens of thousands of cyclists, skateboarders, inline skaters and walkers take over the Federal highways along both banks of the Rhine between Lahnstein and Rüdesheim, Bingen and Stolzenfels. Numerous way-stations offer local specialities, musical entertainment and a varied programme of events.

526 > 543 Rheingau Musik Festival
With over 120 000 visitors every year, the Rheingau Music Festival is one of the leading events of its kind and at the same time it is the largest, almost entirely privately-funded music festival in Europe. Around 148 music events including classical chamber concerts, symphony concerts and oratorios as well as open air concerts and Kabarett evenings take place between Frankfurt/Wiesbaden and Lorch am Rhein.

Lorch’s traditional wine festival is all about “wine, art & music”. Volunteers from among Lorch’s residents present a wine festival that is small but stylish, with a sophisticated programme of music. Artists present their work at an art market. The event is lubricated by copious amounts of Lorch wine.

On five separate evenings, the city on Rhine and Moselle becomes a paradise for inline skaters who can glide along attractive routes, enjoying a unique sense of freedom. These trendy ‘Skatenights‘ are made possible through the expertise of the “Skate-On” school of inline skating and the dedication of the Sportbund Rheinland-Pfalz. They are no longer just a local event, but attract skaters from all over the Rhine-Moselle region.

Ehrenbreitstein Fortress is the setting for one of the finest festivals of world cultures in Germany. “Horizonte”,which means ‘horizons’, offers a sophisticated mixture of traditional and contemporary music by artists from around the world.

592 Altstadtfest, Koblenz
This festival was started in 1975 by some of the old town residents in order to draw attention to the urgently needed restoration of the city’s old quarter. This has now been successfully completed and the original initiative has developed into one of Koblenz’s major events which is now famous far beyond the city limits.
